“Living In – Walking Out”
Scripture: Hebrews 10:14

"For by one offering He hath perfected forever them that are sanctified."

Devotion:
Hebrews 10:14 holds two realities together: perfected and being sanctified. One is finished. The other is ongoing.

Through Christ’s single, sufficient offering, God sees you as complete — not because you’ve mastered holiness, but because Jesus did. You are accepted, covered, and made whole through His righteousness. That’s the “perfected forever” part.

But you are also being shaped, refined, and matured day by day. The Spirit is still working in you, smoothing rough edges, healing old wounds, and strengthening new habits. That’s the “being sanctified” part.

You don’t have to choose between the two. You live in both. You walk out your growth from a place of security. You pursue holiness from a place of already being loved. You change because you’re saved — not to stay saved.

This verse frees you from the exhausting cycle of trying to earn what Christ already finished.

Application:

• Rest in the truth that God is not waiting for you to “be better” before He accepts you.
• Celebrate progress, even small steps — sanctification is a journey, not a sprint.
• When you fail, return quickly to grace; your perfection is in Christ, not your performance.
• Let this verse quiet the inner critic and strengthen your confidence in God’s work within you.

 
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the perfect and complete work of Jesus. Help me to live from the security of what He has already finished. Shape me daily, refine me gently, and remind me that Your grace holds me as I grow. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
