“Give With a Faithful Heart”
Scripture: Luke 6:38, NJKV

"Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

Devotion:
In Luke 6, Jesus taught His disciples what it meant to live according to the values of God's Kingdom. He spoke about loving our enemies, showing mercy, forgiving those who have wronged us, and giving generously. Luke 6:38 is usually associated with financial giving only, but its focus is much broader than that. Jesus teaches that when we live a lifestyle of generosity, we can expect to receive generously in return. Luke describes it as receiving a “running over” return ~ just imagine God’s abundant blessings overflowing into our lives.

Remember that everything we have belongs to God. He has given us our time, talents, treasures, testimonies, and spiritual gifts so that we can bless others. Not for us to boast about or mishandle them. When we give with a cheerful and sincere heart, we show the generous character of our Heavenly Father. Whether we are giving to support our ministries, helping someone in need, offering forgiveness, extending compassion, or sharing a testimony, God is most pleased when we give freely without selfish motives.

No, we are not guaranteed earthly wealth or material prosperity as the world defines it. Philippians 4:19 reminds us, “But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” God faithfully provides what we truly need according to His wisdom and will. He pours out His blessings in ways that strengthen our faith, deepen our dependence on Him, and He equips us to joyfully serve His Kingdom for His glory.

Let’s make sure today that we are not giving to receive recognition or personal gain. Matthew 6:4 teaches us that God values quiet acts of kindness over public praise. Therefore, let your giving be an act of worship that brings glory to God and points others to Him and Him alone.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for loving me and providing for me. Teach me to give with a heart of love, joy, willingness, and selflessness. Help me to be generous with my time, my resources, and my love. Let me be a blessing to others and point them to You! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
