“The Fountain of Life”
Scripture: Psalm 36:9, AMP

“For with You is the fountain of life [the fountain of life-giving water]; In Your light we see light.”

Devotion:
Life is filled with moments that leave us weary, discouraged, and searching for renewal. We often look to temporary sources for satisfaction—success, possessions, recognition, or even other people, but David reminds us in Psalm 36:9 that the only inexhaustible source of life is found in God Himself. He is the Fountain of Life. A fountain is not stagnant; it is constantly flowing. Likewise, God's life, love, mercy, and grace never cease. He does not merely provide life—He is its very source. Every breath we take, every blessing we receive, and every hope we hold finds its origin in Him.

David also declares, "In Your light we see light." God's light reveals His truth, exposes what hinders our fellowship with Him, and illuminates the path we are to follow. As we walk in His light, we gain discernment to make godly decisions and the confidence to trust His direction, even when we cannot see the entire journey ahead. Jesus is the source of living water and, through Him, we receive eternal life and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The more we draw near to Christ, the more His life flows through us, enabling us to become a source of encouragement, hope, and blessing to others.

Today, come to the Fountain of Life. Lay down your burdens, your fears, and your disappointments before the Lord. Drink deeply from His unfailing love and allow His light to fill every corner of your heart. His fountain never runs dry, and His light never grows dim. In Him you will always find life, strength, and hope.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being the Fountain of Life, the never-ending source of all that I need.  Help me to drink deeply from the living water You freely provide through Jesus Christ. Refresh my spirit, renew my strength, and restore my joy. Thank You for Your unfailing faithfulness and for the promise that Your fountain never runs dry. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
