Testimony Tuesday Week 1 | Deacon Dockery

Sep 8, 2026    Deacon Dockery

Today, Deacon Dockery shares a testimony that can be summed up in one declaration:

“Down through the years, the Lord has been good to me.”

After leaving active Army duty in 2001, Deacon Dockery entered a demanding career he repeatedly believed he would leave. Third shifts, additional academies, physical challenges, injuries, illness, and moments when he felt he could not continue all became part of his journey.

Yet 25 years later, he is still standing.

He credits the prayers of his grandmother, mother, aunt, church family, and others who prayed for him when he needed strength to keep going.

His testimony reminds us that sometimes the evidence of God’s faithfulness is simply this: you are still here.

As Historic Sherman Memorial COGIC celebrates its 25th Annual Month of Prayer, we invite you to listen, reflect, and remember what the Lord has done in your own life.
