“Overflowing Generosity”
Scripture: Luke 6:38, NIV

“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

Devotion:
In Luke 6:38, Jesus teaches us that generosity is not just about giving material things—it’s about the posture of our hearts. When we give freely, whether it’s time, encouragement, forgiveness, or resources, God responds with abundance. The scriptures paint a picture of what blessings look like when given with an opened heart;  “pressed down, shaken together, and running over.” It reminds us that God’s economy is not one of scarcity, but of superabundance.

Generosity is contagious. When we sow kindness, we reap joy. When we extend grace, we experience deeper fellowship. The measure we use becomes the measure we receive—so let us give lavishly, just as Christ has given to us.

Application:
•  Give encouragement: Speak life into someone who feels weary.
•  Give forgiveness: Release a grudge and extend grace.
•  Give resources: Share what you have with someone in need.
•  Give time: Be present with a friend or family member.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the overflowing grace You pour into my life. Teach me to give with a cheerful heart, not out of obligation but out of love. Help me to trust that as I pour out to others, You will fill me again with Your goodness. May my life reflect Your generosity today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
