“Unity in Our Diversity”
 Scripture: 1 Corinthians 12:4
 
“Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.”

Devotion:
This verse is a great reminder for us that God works through His people in different ways. In the house of the Lord everyone will not look the same, serve the same, or move the same. Instead, God intentionally gives His children different gifts, all coming from the same Holy Spirit.

Yes, your gift may look different from someone else’s gift. For instance, you may have been given quiet strength while your brother or sister has bold leadership. Someone else may be compassionate while the other person may have the gift of wisdom. Just know that all of these gifts are given by God for the building of His Kingdom.

Having diversities of gifts lets us know that the value isn’t found in having someone else’s gift, but in faithfully using the gifts God has placed in YOU! When we set our minds on kingdom work, we will understand that the same Spirit who empowers others is the Spirit who empowers us. And when we each bring our unique gifts to the table, God will mold them together into something powerful. It will show others God’s presence through His children.. Let’s not hesitate to use our God-given gifts to glorify Him today!

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the unique gifts You have placed in each of us. Help us to recognize and embrace the gifts and teach us to value the different gifts in others and to walk in unity, knowing that You empower us all. Show us how to use our gifts for Your glory and for the good of those around us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
