Welcome to Fresh Fire Friday at the Historic Sherman Memorial Church of God in Christ as we continue celebrating our 25th Annual Month of Prayer.

In today’s message, Dr. Derrick D. Rodgers shares the subject:

“Fresh Fire for Holy Living”

Scripture: Romans 12:1–2

Fresh fire is more than an experience we feel. It should produce a life that visibly demonstrates the will of God.

Drawing from Romans 12:1–2, Dr. Rodgers challenges believers to present themselves to God as a living sacrifice, allowing the Holy Spirit to renew the mind, transform the life, and produce visible evidence of God’s will.

Under the old covenant, sacrifices were brought to the altar. In Romans 12, Paul calls the believer to become the sacrifice. God wants more than our possessions, offerings, or religious activity. He wants us.

Because God gave His best for us through Jesus Christ, our response is to give our best to Him through surrender, consecration, transformation, and holy living.

In this message, Dr. Rodgers also connects God’s sovereignty and the Kingdom of God:

The sovereignty of God speaks to His supreme power, authority, and right to rule. The Kingdom of God is His will being manifested in the earth.

When your mind is renewed, your life is surrendered, and you walk in holiness, God’s will becomes visible through you.

Our prayer today is:

Lord, send the fire.

Lord, renew our minds.

Lord, transform our lives.

Let us prove what is that good, acceptable, and perfect will of God.
