“Examine Your Own Work”
Scripture: Galatians 6:4–5

“But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. For every man shall bear his own burden.”

Devotion:
In a world full of comparisons, Paul’s words call us back to personal accountability. “Prove your own work” means to examine your life honestly—not by measuring it against others, but by testing it against God’s truth. When we do this, our joy comes from knowing we’ve been faithful—not from outperforming someone else.

Verse 5 reminds us that each person carries their own spiritual load. While we’re called to help others (see Galatians 6:2), we’re also responsible for our own choices, growth, and obedience. God doesn’t grade us on a curve—He looks at our hearts, our motives, and our faithfulness.

This devotion is a call to quiet confidence: not pride, but peace in knowing you’re walking in step with God.

Application:

• Take time today to reflect: What am I doing that truly honors God?
• Resist the urge to compare—celebrate someone else’s success without feeling less.
• Ask God to show you one area where you can grow in personal responsibility.

Prayer:
Lord, help me to examine my life with honesty and humility. Teach me to find joy in being faithful to You, not in comparing myself to others. Strengthen me to carry the responsibilities You’ve entrusted to me and let me walk in integrity and grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
