“Offer God Your Best!”
Scripture: 1 Samuel 6:7

"Now therefore make a new cart, and take two milch kine, on which there hath come no yoke, and tie the kine to the cart, and bring their calves home from them:"

Devotion:
This verse takes place when the Philistines were returning the Ark of the Covenant after experiencing God’s judgment. It is said that they wanted to make sure everything they used was brand new and had never been used for secular purposes because they recognized the power and holiness of God. Even those who did not truly serve Him understood that His presence must be handled with reverence and respect.

The instruction to prepare a “new cart” reminds us that God deserves our best, not leftovers or careless worship. Throughout the Word, things dedicated to God were often set apart and made new, symbolizing honor, purity, and devotion. God is holy, and He calls for us to approach Him with sincerity and obedience.

The cows that they chose represented something unused and set apart for a special purpose. This shows us that God desires hearts that are willing to be set apart for the Master’s use. He can use ordinary people for extraordinary purposes when they are fully surrendered.

Today, let’s think about what we are offering to God. Are you giving Him our best time, worship, service, and devotion? God honors hearts that approach Him with reverence and willing obedience. Being obedient to God will put us in the position to witness His power and direction in our lives.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me to honor You with my whole heart. Teach me to approach You with reverence, obedience, and sincerity. I want to give You my best and be set apart for Your purpose. Lead me in Your ways and help me trust You at all times, even when I do not fully understand. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“Your Choices Determine Your Harvest”
Scripture: Job 4:8
 
"Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, And sow wickedness, reap the same."

Devotion:
Eliphaz spoke the words to Job in this Scripture expressing a principle that is found throughout the Word - what we sow, we eventually reap. This means that our actions, words, and choices carry consequences. We will notice that when we sow seeds of kindness, obedience, and righteousness we experience God’s blessings and peace, while sowing seeds of sin and wrongdoing lead to sorrow and destruction.

We must take time to examine the seeds we are planting daily. Are we sowing forgiveness or bitterness? Faith or doubt? Love or division? Every decision determines the harvest that will come in our lives in the future.

Job’s story also teaches us to be careful in judging others too quickly. While sowing and reaping is a biblical truth, suffering is not always the direct result of personal sin. Sometimes God allows trials for purposes beyond our understanding.  So, let’s be mindful to respond to others with compassion, humility, and prayer rather than condemnation; trusting God to bring forth a harvest of peace, joy, and spiritual growth in our lives and in the lives of others.

Prayer:
Father, help me to sow seeds that please You. Guard my heart, words, and actions so they reflect Your love and truth. Forgive me for the times I have sown wrong attitudes or actions, and help me walk righteously. Teach me to show grace and compassion to others while trusting in Your wisdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“Strength to Keep Going”
Scripture: Galatians 6:9

"And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."

Devotion:
This Scripture encourages us to not grow weary in well doing but to Keep Going. There are moments when serving, giving, praying, and standing in faith can feel exhausting, especially when we do not immediately see results. But Paul encourages believers not to lose heart or give up during those seasons of waiting.

Just know that God sees every act of obedience, every sacrifice, and every seed sown in faith. Even when progress seems slow, He is still working behind the scenes. We know that a gardener does not plant seeds one day and expect a harvest the next, because there is a process of growth that requires patience, trust, and perseverance.

This verse also reminds us that a “due season” is coming. Our Father has appointed a time for the harvest. The main thing is that we trust God and not faint under pressure. Weariness can tempt us to stop praying, stop believing, or stop doing good. But when we persevere, it makes us strong and more mature in our walk with God. Every act of kindness, every prayer, and every step of obedience matters in His kingdom.

Keep sowing in faith. Keep trusting God ~ The harvest is worth the wait.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, strengthen me when I become weary. Help me to remain faithful in doing good even when I cannot see the results. Give me patience to trust Your timing and courage to continue walking in obedience. Remind me that my labor in You is never in vain. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

"And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper."

Devotion:
This verse is very inspiring.  It promises that the believer who stays connected to God and keeps their life grounded in His Word will receive unceasing spiritual nourishment and strength.

Just as trees planted by rivers do not depend only on changing weather conditions because its roots have access to a steady source of water; the same happens when we remain rooted and grounded in God’s presence and His Word; we can remain strong even during difficult seasons. Yes, storms may come, but we will not be easily shaken, because our source is in Him.

The verse also reminds us that fruit comes “in his season.” Growth takes time. Sometimes we become discouraged when we do not see results from our prayers, obedience, or labor immediately. But we have to trust that our Heavenly Father knows the appointed season for every blessing. We just have to remain faithful, trusting that He will produce spiritual fruit in our lives.

The promise that “his leaf also shall not wither” speaks of endurance and spiritual strength. God will continue to nourish us if we continue to trust Him. Even in dry places, He provides strength so that we can remain resilient. Keep trusting in Him!

Prayer:
Lord, help me to stay firmly planted in Your Word and presence. Strengthen my roots so I will not be moved by life’s challenges. Teach me to trust Your timing and remain faithful while waiting for fruit to grow in my life. Let my life reflect Your goodness and bring glory to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“Let Go of Bitterness”
Scripture: Ephesians 4:31

"Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:"

Devotion:
Paul reminds believers in this verse that carrying bitterness and anger damages the heart and disrupts our relationship with God and others. Bitterness often begins with hurt, disappointment, or offense that is left unresolved. Over time, it can grow and affect our thoughts, how we communicate, and our actions.

God calls us to let go of destructive attitudes and replace them with forgiveness, kindness, and love. This does not mean ignoring wrongs or pretending pain does not exist. It means that we choose to surrender those hurts to God instead of allowing them to control us, because we do not want to hold on to anger that will fester and weigh down our spirits. I am a witness that when we forgive and trust God with our pain, we will experience freedom and peace. Jesus showed us the perfect example of forgiveness even while suffering on the cross.

Ask God TODAY to search your heart. If there is unforgiveness, resentment, or anger hidden within, allow His Spirit to heal you and help you walk in love. A heart filled with God’s love cannot remain filled with bitterness.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me to let go of bitterness, anger, and hurt. Cleanse my heart and fill me with Your peace and compassion. Teach me to forgive as You have forgiven me and to speak words that bring life and encouragement to Your people. Help me to reflect the character of Christ in all that I do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Devotion:
Jesus reminds us that God is constantly sowing His Word into us. Every verse we read, every sermon we hear, and every whisper of truth in prayer is a seed with potential to grow; but seeds don’t grow on their own. You and I must be vessels willing to spread the seed, which is the Word of God, wherever we go.

When we take time, slow down, and allow God’s Word to sink deeper than our schedules or the stresses in life, it will transform us. Once His Word grows in us, God will allow it to spread through us to the world.

Let’s become dedicated sowers today through the words we speak, the love and kindness we show others, the choices we make, and even the places we go.
 
Prayer:
Lord, plant Your Word deep in our hearts. Help it grow, change us, and flow through us to bless others. Give us the mind to become sowers and trust in You daily as we spread the Good News. In Jesus name. Amen.

“Trust in God’s Divine Plan”
Scripture: Jeremiah 27:7

"And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son’s son, until the very time of his land come: and then many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of him."

Devotion:
This verse reminds us that we serve a sovereign God who has control over all nations, rulers, seasons, and circumstances. Even when powerful kingdoms like Babylon seemed unstoppable, God appointed a time for their rise and fall.  This proves that nothing will last beyond God’s appointed purpose and season.

Sometimes in life we face difficult seasons that seem as though they will never change. I had a wonderful experience on my flight to Seattle, WA recently. My seat mate shared her testimony with me of her healing process, and there I was hoping that the middle seat remained empty, but God – He was at work sending a child of God to fellowship with me, “All things work together…..”

We may feel under pressure, burdened by the hardships this season has caused us, or we may be waiting for God to move on our behalf. Jeremiah 27:7 teaches us that every season has a God-ordained timeline. Trouble is temporary, and our Father is always in Control. Yes, God allows certain situations to shake us up, humble us, but in the process He is drawing us closer to Him. He never forgets us. Just as He determined the rise and fall of the kingdoms in this Scripture, He also determines the beginning and ending of difficult seasons in our lives.

So, rest assured that when waiting becomes difficult, we can trust that God’s timing is perfect. He knows when to open doors, when to close them, and when to deliver us from burdens that seem too hard for us to bear. It is our responsibility to remain faithful, obedient, and prayerful while trusting His divine plan.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for being sovereign over every season of our lives. Help us to trust Your timing even when we do not understand what You are doing. Remind us that difficult seasons are temporary and that You are always working according to Your perfect plan. Give us patience, faith, and peace as we wait on You. In Jesus’ name, Amen

“Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.”

Devotional:
When Paul describes love in 1 Corinthians 13, he isn’t giving us a cute wedding reading.
He’s giving us a portrait of Jesus — and an invitation to let His love reshape our own.

This passage shows us that love is not a feeling. It’s not chemistry. It’s not convenience.
It’s character. Real love is revealed in how we treat people when:

• we’re tired.
• we’re frustrated.
• we’re disappointed.
• we’re hurt.
• we’re inconvenienced.

Love shows up in the small moments — the ones no one sees but God.

What This Passage Teaches Us:
1. Love is patient and kind
Patience is love that refuses to rush people.
Kindness is love that chooses gentleness over judgment.
2. Love doesn’t compete or compare
It doesn’t envy, boast, or demand attention.
Love is secure enough to celebrate others.
3. Love doesn’t keep score
It doesn’t replay offenses.
It doesn’t store receipts.
It doesn’t weaponize the past.
Love chooses forgiveness — again and again.
4. Love protects, trusts, hopes, and perseveres
This is the love that stays.
The love that believes the best.
The love that refuses to give up.
The love that mirrors the heart of God.

Reflection:
Where is God inviting you to love more like Him?  Is it:

• Patience with someone who drains you?
• Kindness toward someone who’s difficult?
• Forgiveness where you’ve been holding onto hurt?
• Hope where you’ve grown discouraged?
• Perseverance where you feel like quitting?

Ask the Holy Spirit to shape your heart into the kind of love described in this passage — a love that looks like Jesus.

Today’s Takeaway:
Love is not something you feel — it’s something you choose, and Jesus empowers you to live it out.

Prayer:
Lord, teach me to love the way You love. Make my heart patient, kind, humble, and forgiving. Remove anything in me that keeps score or holds onto hurt. Fill me with a love that protects, trusts, hopes, and perseveres. Let Your love flow through me today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“And I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.”

Devotion:
Here we see God speaking to a people who had walked away from Him, rejected Him, and broken His heart. Yet instead of turning away, God says: “I will call you Mine again.” This is the God who restores identity. The God who rewrites stories. The God who takes the rejected, the forgotten, the ashamed, the wandering — and calls them beloved.

God doesn’t just forgive; He reclaims. He doesn’t just welcome back; He renames. Where there was once distance, He speaks belonging. Where there was once rebellion, He speaks relationship. Where there was once shame, He speaks identity.

Reflection:
Where have you felt “not My people”? Where have you felt unworthy, distant, or disqualified? God speaks over you today: “You are Mine.” Let that truth settle into the places where shame once lived.

Today’s Takeaway:
God doesn’t just forgive you — He claims you, names you, and calls you His own.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for calling me Yours even when I wander. Thank You for restoring my identity and rewriting my story with mercy. Help me respond with a heart that says, “You are my God.” Let my life reflect the love You’ve shown me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“What’s Inside Will Come Out”

“A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.”

Devotion:
Jesus reveals a powerful truth in this verse: what comes out of us reflects what is inside of us. Our words, attitudes, and actions are not random; they are the overflow of what we have stored in our hearts.

Think of your heart as a treasure chest. Whatever you fill it with—truth, grace, bitterness, fear, love—will eventually be revealed. If kindness, faith, and compassion fill your heart, they will naturally flow out. But if anger, jealousy, or negativity take root, they will show up in your life.

Jesus is not just concerned with outward behavior; but He points us deeper—to inner transformation. True change doesn’t begin with trying harder on the outside, but with allowing God to shape what’s within.

Application:

• Take a moment to reflect: What am I consistently storing in my heart?
• Be intentional about what you allow in—your thoughts, influences, and habits matter.
• Fill your heart with things that cultivate life: Scripture, prayer, gratitude, and truth.

Remember: what you deposit in your heart today will shape what flows out tomorrow.

Thought of the Day:
Your words are the echo of your heart—make sure they reflect something worth hearing.

Prayer:
Lord, search my heart and reveal what is within me. If there are areas filled with bitterness, fear, or negativity, help me surrender them to You. “As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God.”

Devotion:
Psalm 42:1 paints a vivid picture of deep spiritual longing. The psalmist compares his desire for God to a deer desperately searching for water. This is not a casual want—it is a life-sustaining need. Just as a deer depends on water to survive, our souls depend on God to truly live and thrive.

This verse reminds us that our longing for God is natural and necessary. We were created to live in relationship with Him, and nothing else can fully satisfy that inner thirst.

At times, life can leave us feeling spiritually dry—busy schedules, stress, or distractions can pull us away from God. But that emptiness is not a weakness; it is an invitation. It’s a reminder that our souls are designed to seek something greater.

Application:

• Ask yourself: What am I turning to when I feel empty or overwhelmed?
• Set aside intentional time today to seek God—through prayer, Scripture, or quiet reflection.
• Choose to pursue God with the same urgency and attention as something essential—because He is.

Even a few minutes of genuine focus can begin to refresh your soul.

“Come Close to God”
Scripture: James 4:8

“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”

Devotion:
This verse is both an invitation and a promise. God calls us to come closer—not out of obligation, but out of relationship. And beautifully, He assures us that when we take even a small step toward Him, He responds by drawing near to us. Sometimes we think closeness with God requires perfection. But James reminds us it’s about intentionally pursuing our attention, our hearts, and our lives toward Him.

The second part of the verse speaks honestly: cleanse your hands… purify your hearts. This is a call to recognize the things that create distance between us and God—sin, distraction, divided priorities. “Double-mindedness” means being pulled in two directions—wanting God but also holding onto the world. God isn’t far away. He’s waiting for us to turn fully toward Him.

Application:

• Take a few intentional moments today to pause and seek God (prayer, Scripture, quiet reflection).
• Ask God to reveal anything in your life that needs to be released, confessed, or realigned.
• Choose wholehearted devotion—not divided attention.

Even small steps matter. God meets you there.
