They presented two qualified men, Joseph called Barsabas and Matthias. Both men were said to have walked with the disciples and witnessed the ministry of Jesus Christ. It was believed that they both were fit for the role. However, the final choice between the two men was not based on human judgment. The disciples understood that while people can see outward qualifications, only God truly knows the heart of men. Therefore, they turned to prayer, and sought God’s direction. When they gave forth their lots, as mentioned in Acts 1:26, “the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.”

This reminds us that even when choices seem obvious from the outer appearance, God sees what we cannot. He knows motives, intentions, and the deeper calling placed within each person. In our own lives, we often weigh decisions based on logic, our own experiences, or how things appear to be. Those practices may matter, but they are not enough on their own. So no matter if the decisions that we have to make are great or small, our Heavenly Father wants us to bring all of our care to Him so that He can guide us with His wisdom. Trusting God means that we acknowledge that He is all knowing and His knowledge is unwavering. So, when you face decisions, remember that you don’t have to rely on your understanding alone. Seek God, trust Him, and you can rest assure that He knows exactly what is best.

Prayer:
Lord, You are the One who knows every heart. Help us not to rely only on what we see or understand, but to seek Your wisdom in all that we say and do. Guide our decisions, direct our steps, and give us peace as we trust in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

They “continued with one accord in prayer and supplication.” While waiting for the promise of the Holy Spirit, they did not wait in fear or laziness. They waited together trusting in Jesus, in unity and in prayer. This verse reminds us how powerful prayer is when believers come together with one heart and one purpose. It shows that although the disciples were uncertain about the future, they did not let confusion or discouragement divide them, they came together seeking God’s direction and remained faithful.

Sometimes we are confronted with periods of waiting: waiting for answers from doctors, waiting for healing, waiting for guidance on important decisions, or waiting for open doors. As this verse teaches us, waiting seasons are not wasted seasons when we fill them with prayer. It is during these times that God is preparing our hearts before He reveals His promises.

Like the disciples, it is important for us to be united by praying together, encouraging one another, and staying connected in faith. When we pray together in unity, great things can happen. Unity brings us strength, peace and spiritual growth. Let’s stay faithfully connected in prayer and trust God even while we are waiting, trusting that He will come through in His own timing.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me remain steadfast in prayer and united with others in faith. Teach me to trust You while I wait for Your promises to come to past in my life. Fill my heart with patience, peace, and expectation, and let me seek You always as I walk in unity with other believers. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The ant does not wait for hardship to arrive before preparing for it. Instead, it works during favorable seasons to ensure stability in difficult ones. God is teaching us through this image that wisdom is not only about knowing what is right but also about acting at the right time. Diligence means being faithful with what is in front of us today, rather than assuming there will always be more time tomorrow.

Spiritually, this truth applies to many areas of life. There are seasons when God gives us opportunities for growth, learning, and preparation. If we neglect those seasons, we may be unprepared when trials arise; however, when we are obedient, we build our strength for the future. Preparation is not lack of faith—it is wisdom in action. Trusting God includes being responsible with the time, resources, and opportunities He gives us. Remember, the “summer seasons” bring opportunity for peace, clarity, or strength to prepare us for the “winter seasons” of difficulty. Wisdom recognizes those moments and responds with faithful action.

Prayer:
Lord, teach me to be diligent, faithful, and wise in how I use my time and opportunities. Help me not to be lazy or careless with the seasons You give me. Give me discernment to prepare well, grow steadily, and walk in obedience each day. Thank You for providing for my needs and guiding me into wisdom that honors You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Nothing in this world escapes His knowledge or His control. The end of age is where everything hidden will be revealed, and God’s justice will be perfectly carried out. The enemy may sow confusion, temptation, and destruction, but he does not have the final word.

This passage encourages believers to remain steady and faithful. In a world where good and evil often seem to grow side by side, it can be tempting to lose heart or question whether God sees what is happening. But Jesus assures us that separation and judgment are in God’s hands, not ours. The presence of evil is temporary, but the reign of God is eternal. Angels, not chaos, will carry out God’s final work of gathering. That means nothing is out of place in His timeline, and nothing will be overlooked in His justice. Today, remain faithful wheat – rooted in Christ, growing in His righteousness, and trusting Him with the outcome.

Prayer:
Lord, I know You are sovereign over all things, even in a world where good and evil grow together. Strengthen my trust in Your perfect timing and Your righteous judgment. Keep my heart from fear or discouragement, and help me focus on growing in truth and holiness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Look, I tell you, raise your eyes and observe the fields, and see how they are already white for harvest.”

Devotion:
In today’s lesson, Jesus is challenging a common mindset of delay. The disciples were thinking in natural agricultural terms—waiting for the right season before expecting results. But Jesus shifts their perspective: the spiritual harvest is not something to postpone. It is already ready. We often assume that opportunities to share God’s love, speak truth, or impact lives are “someday” moments. But Jesus tells us to lift our eyes and look now. God is already at work in the hearts of people around us—preparing, softening, and drawing them to Himself.

The “fields” represent people—our families, coworkers, neighbors, and communities. Some may appear distant from God, but Jesus sees readiness where we may see resistance. Our role is not to create the harvest but to recognize it and respond with obedience. Waiting for the “perfect time” can cause us to miss present opportunities. God often places us in moments where a word of encouragement, an act of kindness, or a simple testimony can make an eternal difference. The harvest is not just future—it is now. The question is whether we are willing to lift our eyes and see what Jesus sees.

Prayer:
Lord, help me not to delay obedience or overlook the opportunities You place before me each day. Remove fear, hesitation, and distraction from my life. Use my words, actions, and life to point others to You. Thank You

Verse 37 paints a picture of planting, working, and eventually gathering a fruitful harvest. It reminds us that God often works through seasons of preparation before we see the results of His promises fulfilled. Harvest does not come immediately. It requires the sowing of seeds in faith, trusting that growth will come in time. Many areas of our spiritual lives require patient obedience as well. Prayer, studying God’s Word, serving others, forgiving, and remaining faithful during difficult seasons are all seeds planted in faith. Though growth may not be immediate, God is always working beneath the surface.

Even when you feel like your life is barren or unproductive, remember that God specializes in bringing fruitfulness out of dry places. He can restore hope, renew purpose, and bless the work of faithful hands. Our responsibility is to continue sowing with trust and obedience while leaving the increase to Him. Every blessing, opportunity, and season of growth ultimately comes from God’s provision and favor. When we remain connected to Him, He produces lasting fruit in our lives.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being faithful in every season of life. Teach me to trust Your timing and remain patient while You work behind the scenes. Restore areas that feel dry or discouraged, and fill my heart with renewed hope and purpose. Thank You for Your constant provision and care. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

He compares the Word of God to a seed. A seed may appear small and insignificant at first, but when planted in good soil and properly cared for, it produces growth and fruitfulness. In the same way, God’s Word has the power to transform lives when it takes root in our hearts. Every time we read Scripture, hear a sermon, or meditate on God’s promises, seeds are being planted within us. Even in rough times, God’s Word continues to work beneath the surface by strengthening our faith, renewing our mind, giving us wisdom, and helping us to grow spiritually over time.

Previously we talked about the condition of the soil. Our hearts must remain open, humble, and receptive to what God is speaking. Distractions, worry, bitterness, or unbelief can prevent the seed from growing fully. But when we spend time with the Lord and allow His truth to shape our lives, spiritual fruit begins to appear — peace, joy, patience, love, and deeper trust in Him. God’s Word is alive and powerful. When we faithfully hold onto His truth, He brings growth in His perfect timing.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the gift of Your Word. And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.”

Devotion:
In Acts 1:8, Jesus gave His disciples both a promise and a purpose. He told them they would receive power when the Holy Spirit came upon them, and that power would enable them to be His witnesses throughout the world. Jesus did not ask them to rely on their own abilities, knowledge, or strength. Instead, He promised divine empowerment through the Holy Spirit. The same is true for believers today. God never calls us to fulfill His purpose alone. The Holy Spirit strengthens us to live boldly, love faithfully, speak truthfully, and serve others with compassion. Being a witness is not limited to preaching from a pulpit; it is demonstrated through everyday faithfulness, kindness, obedience, and a life that reflects Christ.
After Jesus spoke these words, He ascended into heaven before their eyes. Even though the disciples could no longer physically see Him, His mission continued through them. Sometimes we may feel distant from God or uncertain about what lies ahead, but Jesus’ ascension reminds us that He is still reigning, still present through His Spirit, and still working through His people. God has called each believer to shine His light wherever they are — in their homes, workplaces, churches, and communities. The Holy Spirit equips ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things for God’s glory.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the promise of the Holy Spirit and the power You give to those who follow You. Give me courage when I feel afraid, strength when I feel weak, and wisdom to follow Your direction daily. Help me to trust Your presence and walk boldly in the purpose You have given me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

For John baptized with water, but you will be baptized and empowered and united with the Holy Spirit, not long from now.”

Devotion:
Before Jesus ascended into heaven, He gave His disciples one clear instruction: wait. They had walked with Him, witnessed miracles, and received His teachings, yet Jesus told them not to move ahead on their own strength. Instead, they were to wait for “the Father’s promise” — the baptism and empowerment of the Holy Spirit. Waiting is often difficult because we naturally want immediate answers and quick movement. Jesus reminded His followers that what was coming would equip them for everything ahead. The Holy Spirit would give them courage, wisdom, power, and guidance to fulfill God’s purpose.

Sometimes God asks us to pause before the next chapter begins. During those moments, He is preparing our hearts, strengthening our faith, and teaching us dependence on Him rather than ourselves. Waiting on God does not mean inactivity; it means expectation. It means trusting that His timing is perfect and His promises are sure. Just as the disciples waited in obedience and anticipation, believers today are called to seek the Lord daily and rely on the Holy Spirit for direction and strength. God never sends His people forward empty-handed. He provides exactly what is needed at the right time.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for Your promises that never fail. Help me to trust You in seasons of waiting and uncertainty. Teach me to be patient and obedient, even when I do not understand Your timing. Let my heart remain expectant and confident in Your perfect plan. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Today’s Scripture is the conclusion of the Parable of the Growing Seed. The parable acknowledges that the Kingdom of God grows by God’s power and not by man’s hands. God is sovereign, and His timing is perfect. We are all His seeds on earth, put here to fulfill the purpose He has placed in us. While we must share God's goodness, He is the one who oversees the world's growth. God has a divine plan and purpose for everything. We can’t do anything within our own strength and ability. God is the one who gives the increase. When we put our faith in God, He can get the glory out of our lives. There is a great harvest coming; will you be ready?

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for providing for me. I can’t do anything without You, and with You all things are possible. Help me grow ‌more in You. Amen.

Jeremiah 29:11 states, For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

When God blesses, He does so in overflow, excess, and more than enough. His desire is for us to prosper in every area of our lives. We just have to submit and trust His plan for us. God wants to give us a good harvest, but we have to acknowledge Him as our provider.

The Sons of Korah wrote today's Scripture to encourage the people after their return from exile. They wanted them to understand God provides "what is good," and that their land would testify to that when they yielded a harvest. Everything that we have is because of God’s goodness and grace toward us. We own nothing; it all belongs to God. When we submit to God’s plan for our lives, we will reap a harvest greater than we can imagine. God has good plans and a good harvest in store for us, but we have to remain faithful and trust Him as our great provider.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being my provider. Thank You for the plans You have for my life. Please help me submit daily to Your will so I can glorify You the more. Amen.

He let them know they were coming out of the period of darkness and oppression into the abundance of God’s joy. Isaiah compares that joy to a bountiful harvest and a celebration of dividing the spoils of war.

If you have ever been in a wilderness experience, then you know those times make you feel like giving up and you feel like you will never see the light of day again. But God! We know that joy comes in the morning, and with God on our side, we have victory. Everything that the lying, stinking, dirty devil speaks is a lie. Yes, we will have trials and tribulations in this life. But we are not facing them alone. God is with us every step of the way, and He is working ALL things out for our good. I read somewhere that joy is not the absence of suffering; it is the presence of God. The joy of the Lord is our strength! I don’t know what you are going through or what you have been facing, but I came to let you know this morning that as long as you stay connected to the true and living vine, who is Jesus Christ, joy is coming!

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for Your joy that fills my heart. Help me focus on You and not my struggles and hardships. I put my trust in You, and I submit to Your will for my life. Have Your way in me, God! Amen.
