Daily Devotional - The Work Continues - WK33 - 8/16/25 - Day 228 - "Thank You"

“Thank You!”
Scripture: 2 Thessalonians 2:13, NLT

“As for us, we can’t help but thank God for you, dear brothers and sisters loved by the Lord. We are always thankful that God chose you to be among the first to experience salvation—a salvation that came through the Spirit who makes you holy and through your belief in the truth.”

Devotion:
“Thank You.” Two English words that have such a powerful meaning no matter when they are used. I was always taught that no matter what someone does for you or says to you, to always say thank you because they didn’t have to do it. That small gesture, being ingrained in me from a young man, has opened many doors and windows. Why? Because it’s genuine gratitude! Oftentimes, we forget to thank those who work alongside us or help us continually, because we become familiar with them. The thing is, they don’t have to! Today’s Scripture is an excellent reminder to show gratitude to those who love God and are striving to be all they can be in Christ. All it takes is a simple action or word of gratitude. It causes people to push harder and continue, especially those who receive and experience salvation through Jesus Christ. So, let’s try our best to consistently show gratitude to everyone, but especially those who have stuck by us, just as Paul did in today’s text.

Prayer:
Jesus, we thank You for allowing us the opportunity to experience salvation through You. We appreciate the people You have placed in our lives to be a consistent help in our journey. We ask for wisdom and guidance that we never take those people for granted and continue to show them gratitude for their labor of love. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
