“Firm In Your Faith”
Scripture: 1 Peter 5:9, AMP

"But resist him, be firm in your faith [against his attack—rooted, established, immovable], knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being experienced by your brothers and sisters throughout the world. [You do not suffer alone.]"

Devotion:
Life often confronts us with fierce spiritual battles—anxiety, discouragement, temptation, and doubt. The enemy seeks to shake us, isolate us, and convince us that we are alone in our struggles. But 1 Peter 5:9 calls us to resist him, and more importantly, to do so by standing firm in our faith. To be "firm in your faith" means more than having a passing belief. It means being rooted, established, and immovable. It’s the kind of faith that doesn’t run at the first sign of trouble but digs deeper into Christ.

Peter reminds us that suffering is not unique to us. Others are enduring hardship too. This shared struggle unites the body of Christ and reminds us that faith, when exercised in adversity, matures and strengthens. It also reminds us that our endurance has purpose—God is producing in us a resilient faith.

So how do we resist the enemy and stand firm?
Stay grounded in the Word. Truth strengthens your spiritual footing.
Pray constantly. Prayer keeps your heart aligned with God’s strength.
Lean on community. You are not alone. Let others help hold you up.
Remember your identity. You are a child of God, already victorious in Christ.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the reminder that I am not alone in my struggles. Help me to resist the enemy—not by my own power, but by leaning on You. Make me immovable in the face of attack—not hardened, but confident and secure in Your promises. Strengthen my faith, Lord, and let my endurance bring You glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
