Daily Devotional - Reflection: Lest We Forget - WK22 - 5/29/25 - Day 149 - "Established Thoughts"

“Established Thoughts”
Scripture: Proverbs 16:3 KJV
 
“Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.”

Devotion:
Sometimes life is rough, it seems there is not enough time for anything we have planned. We say ‘I’m going this place at this time” and then it seems like one incident messes up your whole day. That can be stressful, especially to those who have their lives planned to the minute. Any hiccup can cause stress and worry and sometimes anxiety. This can also be true in our spiritual life. We get up in the morning, talk to the Lord and have a plan for spending time with Him. And then – life happens. Someone calls us or we get sidetracked with something we didn’t finish yesterday. This can lead us to have a cluttered mind trying to get back on track.

The Scripture says surrender our thoughts to God and He will establish our plans. When we give our thoughts, plans, wants, responsibilities, and goals to God, He then, in line with His will, will give it purpose, work out the details, and establish a path for you to succeed. Now, this Scripture is not saying that God is a yes-man. That is so far from true. God’s will is perfect, even in the no’s and not yet’s, and we have to trust Him with our lives in order to walk in the purpose He has for us. Trust God with your plans, He will bring clarity to your thoughts, replace confusion with wisdom, show you a better way, eliminate anxiety, and give you clear direction. All you have to do is put it in His hands!

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being the Master of all. We know that the plans You have for us are good. Help us to remember to trust You with all our plans, knowing that You will lead us to success. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
